The Kitchen Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the back of house. This includes ensuring guest satisfaction by serving dishes of high quality while keeping bottom line costs on target. The Kitchen Manager will be held accountable for the kitchen’s cleanliness, ensuring that it complies with both company and food safety standards. This individual will monitor inventory and implement processes and procedures to instill efficiency in the back of house. Along with the General Manager, the Kitchen Manager is always focused on delivering the best possible guest experience while inspiring and maintaining high team morale. Has flexible availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays according to restaurant needs At least 2 years working in restaurant environment At least 1 year of experience in a leadership or management position Motivated learner when it comes to technology, software and restaurant operations Excellent communication skills, organizational skills and problem-solving skills Summary of Responsibilities Has a thorough grasp on the happenings within their location both physical and financial Maintains an inspection ready restaurant including kitchen and storage areas at all times Upholds all of Fresh’s standards and policies including attendance, code of conduct and uniform policy, etc. Ensures that all dishes that are served are visually appealing, cooked to perfection and according to specifications Meets labour costs objectives when creating and publishing weekly schedules Coordinates with FOH on guest complaints and escalations regarding allergies and food quality Drives guest satisfaction by preparing for upcoming local restaurant marketing initiatives Optimizes profit and minimizes waste when ordering food and supplies to maintain the appropriate inventory by forecasting accurately Implements any new systems and menu items to ensure staff have the training necessary Works closely with the General Manager to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules to keep equipment and kitchen areas in good standing Enforces good preventative maintenance on equipment and acts proactively to decrease risks to employees, guests and company assets Monitors the logs, systems and procedures within the kitchen such as prep lists and training completions to confirm they are completed to specifications Works closely with the General Manager to achieve operational goals outlined in yearly/monthly budgets Leads the full hiring cycle and promotion process for all BOH staff Improves employee retention by coaching and committing to the growth and development of staff Holds staff accountable to all procedures and standards set out by Fresh Contributes to a safe and warm environment by respecting and accepting all individuals who enter the restaurant
